Albert C. Worth
APRIL 12, 1947 ~ JUNE 15, 2019 (AGE 72)
For those who do not already know, Al Worth passed away. Al was a long time SPED member, PPD Level IV Piper and former SPED Director. On the board, Al was particularly interested in the continuing development of the Professional Piping Design (PPD) certification program. Al was instrumental in developing SPED’s RP-001, Recommended Practice for Assessing Piping Designer Baseline Skills and Competencies. He was one of the founding members of SPED’s PPD Advisory Committee (PPDAC).
Al will be sorely missed,

Orifice Plate Flow Meter Piping Requirements
Improper installation of Orifice Plate Flow Meters will cause errors in flow readings.
This document is written to address Orifice Plate type flow meter piping. There are numerous types of flow meters that all have different requirements for piping installation. The designer should always consult the Instrument Engineer or Manufactures literature on final installation requirements for any Flow Meter. With that being said; there are still some practical design applications within this document that could apply to many flow meter types.
